it has been a year since i moved to portland, and about 9 months since i abandoned this blog.
i can say that i got into a work routine and it started raining and it got dark out so early, i hate using my computer at home because i am on it all day at work, but really i'm just lazy.
however, i have a fancy camera now, it stays light out until one million o'clock, and i'm not as lazy since it's summer?
so i'm going to try to update this regularly. not all the time, but when i want to.

time to escape came to portland for a few days and played and hung out. during one particularly warm day i took them to sandy river. i guess because we had a really cold, snowy (on the mountains) winter, the water has been particularly freezing. nicktape and justine malone decided to go for it. they came out looking slightly blue.

at some point the night of their show, i went outside to grab something from my scooter and i looked up and the light and urban landscape were just perfect for some reason. this was taken on se powell around se 12th.

The light when I leave in the morning is absolutely breathtaking. This is taken from the door of my apartment at probably around 7:30.

This tree made me wish I had a better camera. The light and the color of the tree were perfect when I was driving towards it so I got out and took about 20 pictures trying to get it just right. It didn't work. But when I see this picture I remember what it actually looked like.

So we went to this Karaoke bar for my friend Hilary's birthday, and it was incredible, people watching wise. This guy, here, is named Shadow, and he was there alone. He is the most intense karaoker I've ever seen. He did Meatloaf's "I would do anything" and started off sitting on the stairs, pensively, and by the end was ROCKING OUT. He was gone after that, probably off to another karaoke bar to wow another group of people.
